For us at Engel Appartements, sustainability is not a trend, but a conscious attitude – rooted in respect for nature, our home, and the future.

In South Tyrol, the Sustainability Label South Tyrol stands for destinations as well as accommodation and gastronomy businesses that actively commit to a sustainable future. It is based on the criteria of the Global Sustainable Tourism Council (GSTC) and recognises tourism operators who are particularly committed to protecting the region’s unique natural environment and the well-being of its people.

It is awarded to businesses that preserve regional traditions, promote sustainable practices, and contribute with concrete measures to ensuring South Tyrol remains a livable natural and cultural region for future generations.

As holders of the Sustainability Label Level 1, we have already taken the first step towards a sustainable transformation.

Level 1

We have embarked on our sustainability journey and have been awarded the Level 1 Sustainability Label. This means we follow clear principles to minimise our environmental impact. We are increasingly relying on renewable energy and continuously monitoring our consumption of energy, water, and CO₂ with the aim of reducing it. We also pay close attention to responsible waste management, avoid food waste, and use environmentally friendly cleaning products instead of harmful ones.

Our sustainability measures:

- Careful use of drinking water
- Use of regional products at breakfast
- Information encouraging the consumption of tap water as a high-quality alternative to reduce plastic waste
- Guest-controlled towel change
- Electric vehicle charging station available
- Environmentally friendly arrival by public transport is possible
